Art and Design will help a student appreciate the cultural wealth and diversity of humanity, which is a hugely important aspect to globalization.
It is my great pleasure to demonstrate to learners the methods, materials and historical reasoning behind human creative drives. This then stimulates them to enjoy their very own personal creative responses.
Various class assignments that I teach, coupled with cross curricula links, produce an interesting and broad syllabus equipping the pupils with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully further their education in this field.
I have a very wide knowledge of the arts that will benefit all students. These benefits include, art and design history, observational drawing, painting and 3D work. Computer design and animation with sound, theatre, costume and fashion design, and also design technology. All these disciplines help to foster an understanding in the student as to what art and design is and how it fits into the fabric of our society.
I have been teaching in international schools for fourteen years and understand the requirements needed for students studying in this atmosphere. I first taught art and design, and design technology in Rome, Italy for nine years to IGCSE level and then design and technology as Head of Department in Mumbai, India for two years to IB level. I am now teaching IGCSE art and design and IB Visual Art in Putrajaya, Malaysia at a new school where I have introduced and organized the whole art department, studio and syllabus.
